In the most recent Peace recap you guys mention how Weer is convinced a story must be read from start to finish in the same sitting. In Wolfe's essay The Best Introduction to the Mountains, he talks about how he did something similar with each book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Each night he only allowed himself to progress one chapter at a time, however he could re-read chapters. It's unclear to me if he ever knocked them out in one go, but the sentiment of Weer reminded me of this. Oh, that's really interesting. I'm certainly prone to stopping at a chapter or section break, too, but I don't think I'm quite so dogmatic about it. On the other hand, my wife will just stop watching an episode of TV in the middle of it and this is behavior that I simply cannot understand.
