I was recently listening to the penultimate episode of the first novella in Fifth Head, and it struck me when religion was being discussed that there are some interesting ideas surrounding the holy trinity that are possibly worth exploring in the text. Coding the three "living" members of the Wolfe clone line as follows makes for an interesting reading of the relationship between the characters:
Father: Narrator's father
Son: Narrator
Holy Ghost: Mr. Million
This reading produces an interesting ideas regarding Satan having symmetrical aspects mirroring the christian aspects of God, and also seems to suggest that the narrator is in fact the antichrist. Additionally, the story told of the narrator (antichrist) murdering his father (satan) with the father likely anticipating this event to occur is an interesting inversion of the story of Christ and his relationship with his father (i.e. God).
Thanks for any ideas any other listeners/forum members may have, and thanks to the hosts of the podcast for all the work you put into the show.
Hi Adam and welcome to the forum! This is a really interesting idea: we certainly have a father, a son, and a trapped soul, each of whom is made of the same "stuff" in some sense.
