I just saw (thanks to Marc Aramini on FB) that Tor - dot - com is doing a Gene Wolfe reread. The series' main page is here:
https://www.tor.com/series/rereading-gene-wolfe/
It looks interesting. It's unclear how much detail he'll go into — I get the impression that he might do only a few posts per book (although he doesn't say specifically), which would be a pity. Still, should be fun.
(I will admit to a small smidgen of regret: I pitched a Book of the New Sun reread to Tor a year and a half ago, with the idea of doing a chapter a week, and making it a real reread, and assuming prior knowledge of the work, and talking about what one would see on a second reading. I still think that that's a good idea for somewhere! But I'm glad they have someone doing one.)
This does look interesting and I'm glad Wolfe will be getting some attention on such a well-trafficked blog. It's horrible that it took his death for Tor to consider that worthwhile, though, but I won't look a gift-horse in the mouth, I guess.
