I just finished watching the Moon Knight six episode first season on Disney Plus. It's pretty good. Some parts are a bit ragged, but that's to be expected when someone squashes 5 or so years of comic book continuity into 6 hours of TV. If you have Disney Plus, I'd recommend it. It's not good enough to get another streaming service for, if you don't already have D+.
This show has lots of weird fiction style.
Great powers/gods manifest on Earth, like Khonshu (the Egyptian moon god and god of vengeance/justice). Other gods have human avatars. Those aren't particularly well-developed, though I'm sure we'll see some of them in later series. Monsters also appear, like jackal hellhounds that only Steven Grant (played by Oscar Isaac) can see. There are also undead creatures (maybe?) in later episodes.
There is a cult trying to release another goddess, Amit, who has been imprisoned by the remaining gods millennia ago. She's a goddess of pre-emptive justice, which eventually means: kill everyone now, before they can commit crimes. Typical "end of humanity" Tuesday in the Marvel Universe.
There is, of course, a hidden tomb where secret knowledge lies. That knowledge is needed to release Amit, which leads to big chase scenes as our heroes attempt to get there first. This show also owes a bit to Indiana Jones, too.
Our protagonist is unreliable and might be mentally ill. A couple of episodes have parts set in an asylum, that might actually be in our protagonist's imagination.
Basically, if you like weird fiction, blended with some adventure, horror, and superhero stuff, this show is probably worth your time.
