Really enjoyed this one - it's a fun departure from reading fiction while still discussing character and setting. I've not heard of this game, but I've been out of playing RPGs since the 90's. I'm inclined to buy it, just for the setting details.
The setting for this RPG sounds really fun. The Dying Earth/New Earth/far future with ancient relics holds so many premises for adventure. As I mentioned on Twitter, it also reminds me of Sword of Shannara. It also seems like it might have a bit of that RIFTS feel, where anything can happen because of how many layers of civilization there are. On further reflection, there's probably some similarity with N. K. Jemisin's Broken Earth trilogy, as that was a sci-fi/fantasy world built on the deeply-hidden bones of a previously very high-tech society.
It's a really beautiful book (or set of books or library of books). For me, just reading through the chapters on the setting provides a lot of joy and is, as you say, a nice break from something with a narrative. I hope we'll do more episodes like this in the future.
